On Tuesday 9 January 2018, Dimensions Consulting kicked-off a new project for conducting a feasibility study on almonds irrigated with treated wastewater. Commissioned by Ma’an Development Center, this project falls under the remit of the Australian Government’s AMENAC-3 program, which aims to boost rural livelihoods by connecting Palestinian farmers to markets.
The feasibility study aims to assess whether the cultivation of almonds with treated wastewater is viable and to identify the conditions under which the profitability of such a business venture is maximized. The cultivation of agricultural products using treated wastewater in a new concept in the West Bank. Working with 10 farmers in the Jenin area and agricultural experts, Dimensions is engaged in an intensive data collection process to gather the information required for business modelling and financial analysis.
